Hospital No. 1 in the state of Querétaro. Results: A sample of 153 participants was obtained, 100% of the total planned sample. With a total of 98 women and 55 men, whose grip strength was measured by dynamometry, along with functionality scales, for basic activities of daily living (Barthel) and instrumented activities of daily living (Lawton and Brody), as well as risk of frailty, sarcopenia, malnutrition and walking speed, where it is observed that there is a direct correlation between hand grip strength and the level of functionality. With statistical significance. Conclusion: In this study it was observed that the greater the hand grip strength, the better the performance in their basic and instrumented activities of daily living, translating into better functionality. Discussion: The main objective of this study was to corroborate whether there was a correlation between hand grip strength measured by dynamometry and the participant's level of functionality. One of the main findings was that the greater the hand grip strength measured by dynamometry, the higher the score on the Barthel scale as well as Lawton and Brody. That is to say, a correlation was found between hand grip strength and level of functionality in the study participants.es_ES
