The objective of this thesis was to propose to the channels as informants of the degradation of a territory where physical, chemical, biological and social aspects are linked, understood as a hydrography basin. For this, it was used the concept of ecological integrity, which is defined as the capacity of a system to maintain a balanced and adapted community of organisms, with a structure, functionality and specific richness. Including humans as an element that alters and is altered with the actions that are carried out in the search for the satisfaction of their needs. Therefore, quantifiable variables of the main channel (Jalpan River) as well as variables that reflect the modification and aptitude of the environment in terms of environmental quality were evaluated: We evaluated the physicochemical parameters of the water, the geomorphology of the channel through the determination of the types of channels and granulometric analysis of each site, the visual environmental quality, the quality of the banks, the quality of the water and the biotic integrity through the use of bioindicators, urban environmental quality, functional zones, direct and indirect impacts of the different sites and the application of semi-structured interviews to key actors, obtained through the realization of a socio-gram in relation to environmental degradation give the region. Looking for the relationship of the quality of the different sites with the form of division and management of the territory. Finding that the most degraded sites were in which human activities had a higher pressure, causing a generalized perception of contamination of the waters of the main channel. However, it was also found that the impacts of the different sources of degradation were located in specific sites and specific temporalities, so a mitigation or restoration of these negative effects is feasible having a budget for the implementation of the management actions recommended here.es_ES
