Description:	La propuesta de esta investigación se enfoca en desarrollar el concepto alemán Gewissen a partir de un recorrido etimológico, de tal manera que se puedan encontrar los inicios de la palabra y sus primeros usos; filosófico, en tanto que es la disciplina que explora el carácter moral del concepto y lo lleva a su ligazón con el uso de la razón y la libertad en el hombre y, por último, el ámbito psicoanalítico, de donde se desprende el mayor contenido de esta tesis. De esta manera, se construye un panorama sobre cómo el concepto ha incidido en la teoría psicoanalítica y en la clínica, aclarando así la importancia de este concepto en los constructos teóricos del yo, ello y, más específicamente hablando, el superyó. Esto debido a que en él se encuentran las particularidades que la conciencia moral resalta, tales como: autoridad, severidad, imperativos y ley. El papel que encuentra la conciencia moral en el establecimiento de la neurosis es aquello que “se sabe con máxima certeza”, aquello que sostiene la autoridad del superyó acrecentada y el sentimiento de culpa en el yo. Por ello mismo es que se da un apartado a la clínica, en donde se encuentra la participación de la conciencia moral en la neurosis obsesiva como modo de que el síntoma continúe presente por medio de la insistencia de los imperativos, de la duda, la culpa y la necesidad de castigo. The proposal of this research focus on the development of the german concept Gewissen through an etymological study, in such a manner the beginnings of the word and its firsts uses can be found; a philosophical one, as it is the discipline that explores the moral features of the concept and takes it to its bond with the reason capacity and man's liberty and, at last, the psychoanalytic field, from where it comes the majority of this thesis. From this perspective it is constructed a panorama about how the concept has influenced in the psychoanalytical theory and the clinic, making it clear the prominence of this concept in the theoretical constructs of ego, id and, more specifically, superego. That is because it can be found in it the particularities that the moral conscience stands out, such as: authority, severity, imperative and law. The role that the moral conscience establishes in the neurosis is what is “known with maximum certainty”, what holds the increased superego’s authority and the feeling of guilty from the ego. Therefore this thesis gives a special section to the clinic, where the moral conscience finds its contribution in the obsession neurosis as a way of how the symptom lingers because of the persistence of the imperatives, the doubt, the guilt and the need of punishment.
