Description:	La artrosis femorotibial por genu varo es una alteración encontrada frecuentemente. Aunque no ha sido completamente aclarada su etiología, se cree que es necesario primariamente un factor mecánico con el cual interactúen trastornos hereditarios, metabólicos y hormonales. La osteotomía tibial proximal valguizante es un tratamiento, para la osteoartritis degenerativa unicompartimental medial. El ángulo femorotibial normal es de 177 a 171 grados, conformando el valgo fisiológico de 3° a 9°, con lo cual el 60% del peso descarga sobre el platillo tibial interno y el 40% sobre el externo. The tibiofemoral osteoarthritis by genu is an alteration frequently found. Although it has not been fully elucidated etiology, it is believed to be primarily a mechanical factor which interact with hereditary metabolic and hormonal disorders. The proximal tibial valgus osteotomy is a treatment for degenerative medial unicompartmental osteoarthritis.
