The soybean meal based diets consumption in the post-weaning phase of pigs causes changes in the physiology and microbiota of the gastrointestinal tract, that contributes to the fermentation of undigested and/or absorbed proteins, decreasing the diet digestibility, causing diarrhea and low growth of piglets to avoid this, antibiotics are added to the diets as growth promoters. Because of this, alternative sources of protein such as porcine plasma (PP) or potato protein concentrate (CPP) were used in antibiotic-free diets in this experiment to determine the apparent and standardized ileal digestibility and the total digestibility of four experimental treatments: 1. Control diet with soybean meal (SBM) with antibiotic (SBMAB), 2. Diet with SBM without antibiotic (SBM), 3. Diet with SBM + PP without antibiotic (PP), and 4. Diet with SBM + PPC without antibiotic (PPC). Each of the diets was added with titanium dioxide as a marker. Twenty-four weaned piglets were used at 17.3 ± 0.90 days of life with a weight of 5.7 ± 0.59 kg, cannulated at 21 days of age. The stool samples were collected on days 21 and 22 post-weaning. The ileal digesta collection was performed on days 22 and 23 post-weaning. Dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), energy (En), and titanium dioxide were determined in the diets, feces and ileal digesta. The DM ileal digestibility did not vary (P> 0.05) between the different diets. The CP ileal digestibility of the PPC and SBMAB diets was higher (P< 0.05) than the digestibility of the SBM and PP diets. The DM and En total digestibility of PPC diet was higher (P< 0.05) than the total digestibility of SBMAB, SBM and PP diets. The CP total digestibility of the PPC diet was higher (P< .05) to the PS diet, but similar (P> 0.05) to the SBMAB and PP diets. The standardized CP ileal digestibility of the PPC and SBMAB diets was higher (P <0.05) than the digestibility of the SBM and PP diets. According to the results obtained, the use of potato protein concentrate is a good alternative protein source to be used in diets for early weaned piglets.
