Título : Nivel de conocimiento con el que cuentan los estudiantes universitarios de último semestre de las Licenciaturas en Nutrición en el Estado de Querétaro, sobre el tratamiento nutricio en Enfermedad Renal Crónica

Descripción : La Enfermedad Renal Crónica (ERC) constituye un problema de salud pública importante que afecta al 10% de la población mundial, el diagnóstico oportuno es de gran importancia donde el tratamiento nutricio se centra en corregir e intervenir en los aspectos dietéticos y estilos de vida en las diferentes etapas de la progresión renal y tratamiento sustitutivo. Objetivo: Evaluar el nivel de conocimientos con el que cuentan los estudiantes universitarios de último semestre de las diferentes universidades que ofrecen una Licenciatura en Nutrición, en el Estado de Querétaro sobre el manejo nutricio de la enfermedad renal crónica. Metodología: El estudio es transversal descriptivo. Se elaboró y validó un instrumento para la evaluación de conocimientos, donde participaron 7 expertos con licenciatura, diplomados, maestría y años de experiencia; para los reactivos se utilizaron las guías KDOQI y KDIGO. Se realizó un piloteo y posteriormente se acudió a las universidades que imparten Nutrición en Querétaro con previa autorización para la aplicación del cuestionario. Para la validación del cuestionario se utilizó coeficiente V de Aiken y  de Cronbach, para variables cualitativas nominales porcentajes y para variables cuantitativas continuas promedio y desviación estándar. Para comparar los resultados entre Universidades, se realizó ANOVA. Resultados: El cuestionario constó de 94 preguntas de opción múltiple, 91 se enfocaron al conocimiento de la ERC y 3 sobre interés respecto a la materia. Coeficiente de V de Aiken de 0.972 y un  de Cronbach: 0.914. Se aplicó el cuestionario a 118 estudiantes: 96 mujeres (81.3%) y 22 hombres (18.6%), 23.4  4.1 años. La calificación promedio fue 4.65. El 87.3% (103 estudiantes), obtuvieron un nivel de conocimiento deficiente y el 12.7% (15 estudiantes) aceptable. El área de mayor interés para los estudiantes fue la clínica (34.3%). Después de clase el 38.1% no investiga más sobre el tema y el 78.8% considera muy importante incluir la patología dentro del plan de estudios. Conclusiones: Se logró el desarrollo y validación de un cuestionario para evaluar nivel de conocimientos del Nutriólogo en tratamiento nutricio de ERC. El nivel de conocimientos fue deficiente en la mayoría de los estudiantes y solo 12.7% aceptable.
Chronic Kidney Disease, (CKD) is a public health disease that affects 10% of the world´s population. Early diagnosis is of extreme importance where nutritional treatment focuses on modifying and overriding dietary aspects and lifestyles in the diverse phases of renal progression and replacement therapy. Objective: To evaluate and gauge the knowledge level of Nutrition College students in their last semester at University about the nutritious management of CKD in the State of Queretaro. Methodology: It is a cross-sectional descriptive study. A questionnaire was developed and validated using KDOQI and KDIGO guidelines in order to evaluate the knowledge about CKD and nutrition treatment to the last semester Nutrition career students. Seven experts with bachelor’s and/or master’s degree and years of clinical and/or research experience participated. Aiken V and Cronbach  coefficients were applied for the questionnaire validation. A feasibility study and a pilot test were done and subsequently attended to the universities before authorization for the application of the survey. For the analysis of results, we used for qualitative and nominal variables percentages, average continuous quantitative variables, and standard variation. ANOVA was performed to compare the universities outcomes. Results: The survey comprises of 94 multiple-choice questions, where 91 questions were focused on the CKD data and three concerning its subject matter. Aiken V coefficient of 0.972 and Cronbach  coefficient of 0.914. The survey was implemented to 118 students: 96 women (81.3%) and 22 men (18.6%), 23.4  4.1 years. The final average score was 4.65. The 87.3% (103 students), obtained a poor knowledge level and the 12.7% (15 students) obtained an acceptable level. Regarding their area of interest when they finish the career, the clinical practice was the category that holds the most interest in students (34.3%). After class, the 38.1% does not investigate more about the subject and the 78.7% considers it particularly important to include the pathology within the syllabus. Conclusions: It was utterly achieved the development and validation procedure of the survey to evaluate the knowledge level of Nutritionists in CKD dietary treatment. Most of the students were poorly in their knowledge levels and only 12.7% acceptable.
